Carer Mobile App

The CarePlanner mobile app is available for iPhone and Android and gives careworkers everything they need to know to help them deliver great care.

The app provides a simple interface for your carers to update and stay updated on every appointment, with an inbuilt rota, call monitoring, eMAR, tasks, handover notes, and care plans all available offline should mobile signal be unavailable. For a caregiver, it provides all the information they need, wherever they need it.

Our Care Worker Mobile App

We’ve worked alongside care providers to develop our app to meet the challenges of carers working in the field. We understand the problems posed by time constraints, signal difficulties and communication requirements – so we built a solution in the form of a freely available mobile application that integrates seamlessly with the main CarePlanner system.

Features include:

  • An easy-to-view rota so your carers always have a schedule to hand.
  • Instant schedule updating: as soon as a change is made in the office, it is made available to care staff in the field.
  • Full off-line functionality, meaning that information is available all the time and updates will be saved in the app until connectivity returns.
  • Easily access detailed care information for every scheduled appointment on the go.
  • Straight-forward call monitoring – choose from one of several electronic call monitoring (ECM) solutions, including a simple start/stop button, sophisticated OTP code monitoring, or super-quick NFC tag scanning.
  • A list of important contacts for each client, so that care staff can always reach the relevant people.
  • Sat-nav directions – in-built digital mapping shows your care staff the best route to their next appointment.
  • Care-plan download and access for each client through the app.
  • Note-taking features, encouraging carers to record incidents, observations and updates which are immediately visible to staff in the office.
  • Full eMAR functionality, giving you a traceable, auditable and easily updatable alternative to paper MAR sheets.

Keep Working Without Signal

One of the key benefits of our carer mobile app is that it continues to work even when completely offline.

Care staff can even clock in and out of appointments with no signal, and when connectivity returns the app will simply sync the information with the CarePlanner system.

The app will also pull down any new appointments, or changes to existing appointments, as well as any alerts from the office.

Care Plans Always to Hand

CarePlanner allows you to upload, access and download care plans for each carer on the system.

With the CarePlanner mobile app your carers will be able to access and download these care plans while they are in the field or on-call.

Tasks & Medical Administration Records

CarePlanner gives you the ability to require specific tasks to be completed and medications to be administered during a visit. If you choose, your care staff will be unable to clock out of  an appointment without first confirming that key care tasks have been completed and required medication has been administered. There’s no better way of evidencing the quality and consistency of the care you deliver.

Security for app


All communication between the mobile app and our servers is encrypted, as is all data stored on the device. Access to the app itself is via pin-code, and access can be revoked by an administrator at any time. Upon revocation of access, data is wiped from the device.

Location Tracking

If you choose, you can allow the app to access care staff location information via the device’s GPS functionality. This information is then relayed to the CarePlanner system, and you will be able to see the last-known location of all your care staff overlaid onto a map. Locations are only recorded whilst staff members are actively working, and lone workers can be reassured that the office is aware of their whereabouts.

If you want to take the CarePlanner web system itself with you in the field, then you can.

CarePlanner works on any tablet or notebook with a web browser and internet connection. That means that a senior carer or registered nurse can enter service user information straight into the system whilst on-site.
